Patios and Terraces

Patio and Terrace Guidelines

Patios and terraces must remain uniform in appearance and color. Only outdoor furniture, potted plants, and tasteful, discreet decorations are permitted. Storage of household items, equipment, bicycles, or supplies is not allowed. Cooking on patios and terraces is strictly prohibited.

Carpeting is not permitted on patios and terraces (with the exception of doormats), as it can retain moisture and lead to spalling of the concrete slab after heavy rain. For this reason, any tile installations must be properly sealed.

Any modifications affecting patios and terraces, as well as windows, doors, or the exterior appearance of a unit, require prior approval from the Board of Directors. An Architectural Modification Request must be submitted detailing the scope and nature of the proposed work. Any required permits must be obtained from the City of Oakland Park before work begins.
